Age 81, on Saturday, March 24, 2012, of Bethel Park, formerly of Pleasant Hills. Rita was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Dominic Pitocco, who passed on March 12, 2012, and parents, Josef and Anna Marie (Gachowicz) Heckman; loving mother of Paul (Roseanne) of Bethel Park, PA, Dan (Marlene) of Lake Stevens, WA, Mike (Sharon) of Bakersfield, CA, Dennis (Ali) of Tampa, FL, Nick (Lisa) of Gambrills, MD, Rita Pitocco of Kent, WA, Mary (Ray) Heath of Freeport, FL and the late Dee Pitocco; grandmother of 17 and great-grandmother of six; sister of Eugene Heckman of Pittsburgh and the late Anna Mae, August, Leo, Frank and Robert. Rita retired from UPMC Presbyterian and was a member of St. Valentine Church. She had many hobbies including crocheting, reading, cards and bingo, but the real joy of her life was spending time with her husband Dominic, to whom she was married to for 63 years. Friends will be received at the JOHN F. SLATER FUNERAL HOME, INC., 412-881-4100, 4201 Brownsville Rd., Brentwood 15227, Tuesday from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. and Wednesday morning from 11 until the time of funeral service at noon.
