My sincere condolences for the loss of Paul McCaffery. Although I did not know Paul well, I did work with him in the 1980s and early 1990s at Pittsburgh's original Buhl Planetarium and Institute of Popular Science (a.k.a. Buhl Science Center). I have mentioned Paul's passing on my SpaceWatchtower blog, which can be viewed at this address:

My deepest sympathy and condolences to the McCaffery family. I worked with Paul and Clair Sanford for many years at Buhl Science Center and Carnegie Science Center. We enjoyed many years of fellowship, humor and service to the community together. Paul was a good friend and I was lucky to have known him. He had thousands of wonderful encounters with science center visitors over the years. I will always remember his generous spirit, his wisdom, and sense of humor. Well done for a life well lived Paul!

I was fortunate to sit at the desk in front of Paul (known at work as Mac) when I started at RG&A/HDR 34 years ago. He taught me many things about work and life in general. We always had a good time at work due to Mac's great sense of humor and we became very good friends. I remember one lunch hour when a homeless guy asked Mac for a buck. Mac was concerned that he was going to spend that dollar on the wrong thing, so he didn't give him the buck, but instead took him into George Aikens and bought him whatever he wanted for lunch. There aren't many people that will get that involved with helping a complete stranger, but that's the kind of guy that Mac was. We've missed him at work since he retired years ago, and I always looked forward to seeing him at the Company events. Mac was one of the best people I've ever met and his good hearted humor will be greatly missed.

My sincerest condolences to the McCaffery family on Paul's passing.

He will always be remembered for his wit and dry humor. He always had a joke to tell that would make you laugh. He was a long time supporter of Scouting and Troop 23 in particular. A great mentor to many young men. He'll be greatly missed. I'm glad I had the chance to know him.

I first met Paul when our daughter moved to East End Avenue, across the street from he and Helen. Such kind people, we'll remember Paul as he and my grandson shared the same birthday. + memory eternal!

One of the best is gone, but never forgotten. I worked with Mac at RGA/HDR for quite a few years and we became good friends. He was one of the best draftsmen in the industry. My condolences to the McCaffery family.

I was a young office clerk at RG&A in the late 1960"s when I first met Paul. He always had me in stitches and was a kind and loveable person whom I had the pleasure to know.

My condolences to the McCaffery family. I worked with Paul at Richardson-Gordon (HDR) and have had the pleasure of attending many company functions with him that he attended as a retiree. It was always a pleasure to see Paul. His sense of humor was wonderful - he could always make me laugh. I am glad I had the chance to know him - he will be missed.
