Obituary Condolences

Passed peacefully at home on Tuesday, Nov. 20, 2012. She was a long-time resident of the 25th Ward, Northside, City of Pittsburgh. Ann was born on Dec. 19, 1926 to Alexander and Mary (Dokich) Popovich, Rostraver Twp., Westmoreland County, PA. Ann was one of six daughters and had two brothers. Family and friends always called Ann "Lily". A child of the Great Depression, Ann started to work at the tender age of 14. She always stressed the importance of education to her children and she proudly attained her GED in her early 50s. Ann was known as "Miss Ann" to the hundreds of school children. She faithfully crossed as a school-crossing guard for the City of Pittsburgh for over 20 years. Ann was also a concession cashier at Three Rivers Stadium for over 30 years and loved the teams and fans she served, always with a smile. Ann is survived by her children, Patricia Ann (Charles) Cullinane of Rockford, IL, Monica Ann (James) Dugan of Maumee, OH, Laurita Ann (Robert) Bergner of Dublin, CA, Julie Ann (Leroy) Smith of Westview, PA and Alex Fredrick (Lisa) Cirocco of Venetia, PA. Friends may call Friday, Nov. 23 from 3 to 7 p.m. at the STEPHEN M.
