ANNA KARRENBAUER Obituary
Age 94, of McCandless Twp., on Friday, August 12, 2011. A native of Mt. Oliver, PA, entered the Community in 1937 from St. Joseph Parish. Earned her nursing degree from Braddock General Hospital, and a BS nursing from Duquesne. She became a Registered Nurse Anesthetist in 1970 and worked in various hospitals: Braddock General, Mercy Hospital (Johnstown), Divine Providence, St. Francis in LaCrosse, with her time as a pediatric nurse among her favorite positions. She served as a nurse in Cambridge Springs Nursing Home and spent several years as a prison nurse in Western Penitentiary in Woods Run, PA. Always interested in furthering her nursing capabilities, she became a practitioner of Reike, a form of healing touch. She officially retired in 1993, but spent her days in assisting those around her in any way she could. Survived by nieces, nephews; grand-nieces, grand-nephews; Sisters of Divine Providence and Associates throughout the world. Preceded in death by her parents John and Mary Spinnenweber, brothers, Edward, John, Mannas David, Raymond, Paul, Jerome, and a sister, Ruth Brophy. Let it be said of her that she cared passionately about social justice and human rights. Friends received 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. Tuesday and Noon to 3:30 p.m. on Wednesday at the Providence Heights Motherhouse. Wake service 7:00 p.m. Tuesday. Funeral Mass Wednesday at 4:00 p.m. in the Mother of Divine Providence Chapel. Arrangements by ANTHONY G. STAAB FUNERAL HOME, INC. Send online condolences to www.staabfuneral.com.
