ANTHONY A. (TONY)
Age 89, of Spring, TX and formerly of Pittsburgh, PA, peacefully passed away at his daughter's residence in Kansas City, MO on August 17, 2013. Loving husband of Mary Frances (Erb) Bachner (deceased); loving father of Mary Carol Mulig, Patricia Ann Nix, Judith Lynn Hughes, David Anthony Bachner, Diane Marie Smith, and Donald Joseph Bachner (deceased). Tony was the loving son of Anthony Martin and Rose Bachner; brother of Louis Bachner, Mary Killmeyer (both deceased), and survived by Catherine Barkey. Tony ("Pap Pap") will also be greatly missed by his 14 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren. Tony was born in Pittsburgh on April 26, 1924, served his country proudly as an Army veteran in World War II and was awarded the Bronze Star and Purple Heart. He began his career with the US Postal Service upon returning from the war, and remained there until his retirement at age 62. In retirement, Tony and Mary enjoyed playing shuffleboard and entertaining friends and family at their residence in New Smyrna Beach, FL. In his later years, Tony provided for annual family gatherings and was happiest around his children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. Family will receive friends Wed. 2 p.m. - 9 p.m. at the COPELAND MOON TWP. FUNERAL HOME, 981 Brodhead Rd., where Prayers will be recited Thursday at 9:00 a.m. followed by a 9:30 a.m. Mass of Christian Burial in St. Margaret Mary Church, Full Military Honors.
