Obituary Condolences

63, of Ames, Iowa passed away February 15, 2013 after a 16 year battle with Huntington's Disease. She was cared for at home by her family, with assistance from in home hospice the past year and a half, before spending her final week at Israel Family Hospice House in Ames. She took her last breath peacefully Friday night, with her family by her side. Memorial services will be 3 p.m. Saturday, March 30 at Adams Funeral Home, in Ames. There will be a visitation one hour prior the service. Barbara Judith Antion was born November 4, 1949 to Alfred D. and Sarah Lillian (Lewis) Bielski in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. She was married to Bruce Antion, with whom she shared 40 full and passionate years. Barbara worked hard as a printer, an office manager, an account clerk, and finally a cable assembler and practical joker at Ag Leader Technology. She played hard too, enjoying music, movies, macramé, belly dancing, bowling, riding motorcycles, and traveling by car around the country. She loved Halloween and treasured spending time with family and friends. Now her spirit is in Wonderland, where all the wild things are. Barbara is survived by her husband, Bruce of Ames; her daughter, Sara (Matthew) Merritt of Ames; her sister, Susan (Gary) Roush of New York; her brothers, David (Lizz) Bielski of Pennsylvania and Stephen (Carolyn) Bielski of California; her cousin, Patricia Lewis and Ziggy; and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; and her brothers, Larry Bielski and Jim Bielski. As per Barbara's request, her body was accepted into the Deeded Body Program at the University of Iowa for the purpose of Huntington's Disease research. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in her name to the Huntington's Disease Society of America or Israel Family Hospice House.
