1938 - 2018 Obituary Condolences

Age 79, of Presto, PA passed away on Wednesday, July 11, 2018, after many years of fighting diabetes and renal failure with dialysis. Beloved wife of the late J.P. Self, who were married January 30 1959, in Dallas Texas. Loving mother of Kenny Self (Connie Sax) of Pittsburgh, Chris Self (Lisa Hallam) of McMurray, Kerry (Richard) Herbster of Gold Canyon, AZ, and Julie (David) Carey of Huntington Beach, CA; treasured grandmother of Kennedy Anne Meeks of Atlanta, GA; caring sister of Janice (George) Mason, Jim (JimAnn) Conatser and the late Gary Kent (Sallyanne) Nevins. Beverly was born on August 9, 1938, in Dallas, TX to the late Joe M. (Mary Lander) Nevins and Evelyne Moore Conatser. She was Valedictorian of her High School class in Celina, TX and went on to attend Texas Christian University. Beverly was raised in Celina, TX, but moved to Pittsburgh in July, 1963- due to a job transfer while JP was working for Hughes Tool Company. Beverly founded J.P. Self & Associates with her husband, in 1974, which is a foundation Drilling Equipment and Supply Company. After her husband's retirement in 1998, Beverly continued to run the company with her son Chris until early 2018. Beverly was a longtime resident of McMurray, but spent the last 14 years of her life enjoying the rolling hills and beautiful scenery of Nevillewood Golf community. Beverly and her husband traveled the world and she always proclaimed Venice, Italy to be her favorite destination. She visited Italy 15 times and saw the Pope speak on numerous occasions. Beverly and J.P. were members of Valley Brook Country Club for nearly 30 years. Beverly was also a member of The Alpine Club of Bridgeville. This club of avid fishermen and hunters was a natural for her husband J.P., but proved to be a safe haven of dear friends for Beverly after his death. She will be remembered for her elegance, beauty and her impeccable sense of style along with her unwavering love of family and friends- especially her granddaughter Kennedy- who was her world. Many thanks to the wonderful nurses at Liberty Dialysis (Erin and Amy). You ladies kept her laughing and putting on her lipstick. Her drivers Tony and Smiling Charlie for keeping her safe and Allegheny Health Network Hospice for helping mom's journey home be one of peace and dignity. Funeral arrangements by BEINHAUERS.
