Obituary Condolences

44, of Templeton (formerly of Oakmont), passed away Wednesday, January 23, 2013 at Presbyterian University Hospital following complications from heart surgery. He was a 1986 graduate of Riverview High School and a graduate of Rosedale Technical Institute, after which he was employed by Emery and Team Trucking. Being a lifetime member of the NRA, Brian was an avid gun enthusiast who enjoyed hunting, shooting, and was very knowledgeable about all types of firearms. Brian's love for animals was obvious by the way he raised his three Chocolate Labrador Retrievers, Luke, Sam, and Max who were a vital part of his life. He enjoyed all wildlife and fed birds, turkeys, and deer where he lived. In 1980, Brian was one of world renowned transplant surgeon, Dr. Thomas Starzl's first kidney transplant patients, shortly after Dr. Starzl arrived at UPMC Presby. Brian is survived by his mother, Kathy Bowser of Oakmont; and his father and stepmother, Keith and Nancy Bowser of Allison Park. Beloved nephew of Tom (Sandy) Bradigan, Paul (Sharon) Bradigan, Diane (William) Clepper, Gary (Peg) Bowser, Mike (Barb) Bowser, and Pamela Snyder. He is also survived by many loving cousins. Friends and relatives will be received on Friday, January 25, 2013 from 2-4 & 6-8:30 p.m. at the BURKET-TRUBY FUNERAL HOME CREMATION & ALTERNATIVE SERVICES, INC., 421 Allegheny Ave., Oakmont. Funeral Service Saturday, January 26, 2013, 10 a.m. at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, the family strongly suggests memorial donations to UPMC Thomas E. Starzl Transplantation Institute, Development Dept, Forbes Tower, Suite 8084, 3600 Forbes Ave. at Meyran Ave., Pgh., PA 15213, or Orphans of the Storm Animal Shelter, P.O.
