MADER SR. CHARLENE, OSF
On Saturday, Aug. 10, 2013. Beloved daughter of the late Aloysius and Irene (Maslowski) Mader; sister of the late Kenneth Mader. Sister Charlene was a secondary teacher par excellence, ministering in schools for 60 years in Pgh., PA, Los Angeles, CA, and Rio Piedras, Pro During that time, she also served as Principal of Mt. Alvernia High School for eight years & Vice Principal and Dean of Studies at Daniel Murphy Catholic High School is Los Angeles. Sister was known and admired, not only for her knowledge of the sciences, but also for her sharp wit and ability to perceive and express humor, even in the most dire circumstances. She enjoyed gardening, small animals (especially cats), and traveling. Sister will be greatly missed by the members of her religious community, relatives, friends, co-workers, and former students who were the recipients of her compassion and enduring friendship. Visitation at the Mt. ALVERNIA MOTHERHOUSE CHAPEL 146 Hawthorne Rd., Millvale, Monday 2-7 p.m., Tuesday Noon until time of Funeral Mass at 5 PM. Memorial Contributions may be made to Sisters of St. Francis Ministry, Formation or Retirement Fund 146 Hawthorne Rd., Pgh., PA 15209.
