Leslie and Family,

I was shocked to learn of Elmer's passing. He will truly be missed. He made such a difference in our community, and the community will not be the same without him. He never wanted to be in the lime light, but a lot of things would not have been possible without him. I enjoyed working with the WEECC under his leadership.

Please accept my deepest sympathy. The entire community is mourning with you. Elmer's hard work and dedication to his community did not go unnoticed. Elmer worked for years to try to bring some stability to the West End neighborhoods. My memories of Elmer will be of a humble man who just wanted to do what was right, and what was good. He, like so many of us, believed that we deserve better communities and that it is within our power to create them and he never gave up trying. He truly made a difference in the West End neighborhoods. We are all blessed to have known him.

Elmer was a good man, and it is not right he be taken so soon. On the occasions I could find time to help with his noble goals, working with him always helped me remember what is good in the world.

While our neighborhood will not be as bright a place without Elmer, I will try to remember his good heart to keep my spirits up. My thoughts and sympathies are with the Leslie and family.

Elmer,

in one word I can describe you: awesome. Your determination and dedication to this community when so many have done the easy thing and just left was unbelievable. If we had more people like you in this community we would be the envy of the city.

Thank you for being a good friend and for caring so much. Spending the entire election day in early November with you was great. I am glad that I will always carry that memory with me.

Lesley, Kelli, Nicole and family, We are so shocked and saddened to hear of the passing of Elmer. He was a great person and a devoted husband, father, grandfather and community leader. When the neighborhood needed a passionate advocate, he was there for so many. The quality of his character will live on in the hearts and lives of all who loved him. We were blessed to have known him. May God be with you now and always.

Lesley and family,

You have my sincerest sympathy. Elmer was always so proud of his family. The community has lost a man who truly cared about his fellow man. He didn't judge people he cared about them. What he did was not for himself but others. He never wanted the spotlight or the praise he deserved he only wanted to make a difference.

Elliott and the city of Pittsburgh have lost a true advocate and friend. I will always consider it my privilege to had called him friend and worked with him at the West End Elliott Citizens Council that was so important to him.

My thanks to all of you for sharing him with me and the communtiy.

Lesley,
Sorry to hear of the loss of a wonderful husband, father, grandfather, and friend. Elmer was a great part of our community, and his "Never take no for an answer" attitude, will sadly be missed. Thank you Elmer, for allowing me to work along side you on several projects and community activities, that were special to you, our neighbors, and our community.
Your "Bulldog Attitude" will never be forgotten, because it provided "teeth" when someone needed to be nipped at. It was your love of the area, that will always be remembered, and the straight forward approach that you maintained, to get things done. It was a honor to have known you, as a member of the WEECC, and as a friend.
Thank you for allowing us to be a part of your life, and for your family to share you with us, for you will surely be missed. Job well done Mr.Clark, Job well done.
