91, of Pittsburgh, on Saturday, May 5, 2012. Loving husband of the late Gerry (Lewis) Hrabovsky; dear son of the late Paul and Mary (Seben) Hrabovsky; father of Tom (Jessica) Hrabovsky, Jean (Lyle) Hrabovsky Ask, Bob (Ellen) Hrabovsky; brother of Mary (late Mike) Trusik, Ernest Hrabovsky and Margaret Hrabovsky; grandfather of Suzette Trapani and Kristy Konat; great-grandfather of Michael, Julianna, Adrianna, Gavin, Caleb and Aiden; loving brother of deceased siblings, Paul, John, Jim, Helen Hrabovsky and Betty Lou Padgelek; and a host of nieces and nephews who mourn his passing. Pastor Hrabovsky was former pastor of St. Andrew Lutheran Church from 1953-1975. He was a Marine Corps. veteran of World War II, serving in the South Pacific, and was longtime chaplain at Kane Hospital. He was a graduate of Clark High School, University of Pittsburgh, Hamma Divinity School, and Presbyterian Western Theological Seminary. Before his calling to the ministry, and upon graduating from University of Pittsburgh, he was a produce inspector for the railroad system. He was a son of the St. Andrews congregation since his confirmation in 1933 and rejoiced in his calling to the ministry at his childhood church and community as its Pastor. He was an avid golfer, fisherman, gardener and volunteer for Meals on Wheels. He hosted a foreign ministerial exchange student. In June of 2007, he celebrated his 50th year of Ordination. Upon retiring from Kane Hospital as its Protestant Chaplain, he served as Interim pastor at Bethany Lutheran Church in Bethel Park and St. James Lutheran Church at Emsworth, PA. He continued to serve as supply pastor in Western Pennsylvania well into his 80's. He continued to serve as chaplain for the Marine Corps. veterans Battalion newsletter. Friends welcome Tuesday and Wednesday from 1-3 and 6-9 p.m. at WILLIAM SLATER II FUNERAL SERVICE, 1650 Greentree Road, Scott Twp. Service 10:00 a.m. Thursday in St. Andrew Lutheran, 218 Alter Street, Carnegie, PA, 15106. PLEASE MEET AT CHURCH. In lieu of flowers, donations are requested to St. Andrew Lutheran Church.
