GEORGE S.
On Saturday, May 5, 2018, George S. Pearth, of Longwood of Oakmont. Born in Vienna, Austria on October 17, 1917. He was educated at the University of Vienna. He entered the military Service and served one year as a cadet officer in the Austrian Army. In 1940 he moved to the U.S.A., settled in Pittsburgh and joined the Third Presbyterian Church in 1941 where he served as a Deacon and Elder during his many years as a member. On September 9, 1942, he joined the U.S. Army and served with the 45th Infantry Division in the European Theatre, where he took part in the invasion of Sicily, Salerno, Anzio, Southern France and Germany and returned to the U.S. on October 2, 1945. He spent his entire career in the Jewelry industry and retired in 1982 from the Krementz Co. He was preceded in death by his dear wife, Dorothy Long Pearth who died in 1996; and is survived by his wife, Mary Louise Russell, M.D. whom he married in October 1996; and his nieces, Patricia M. Scott and her husband, Fred and Katherine M. (Mrs. Laurie) Tomlinson and Mrs. Linda Koblyck, all of Charleston, SC and Mrs. Nancy Pippart of Lancaster, PA; also survived by grandnieces, Betsy McMillan and Suzie McMillan; and grandnephews, Doug Scott and Rob Scott. Friends will be received on Saturday, May 19, 2018, from 1:15 p.m. until a 2 p.m. memorial service in the Ballroom of Longwood at Oakmont, 500 Route 909, Verona, PA. Interment will be private. Arrangements by JOHN A. FREYVOGEL SONS, INC. Memorial contributions may be made to the Children's Institute of Pittsburgh, 1405 Shady Avenue, Pgh., PA 15217 or the Hanna Health Care Center at Longwood at Oakmont.
