Obituary Condolences

Age 88, of McMurray, on Friday, January 4, 2013. Beloved husband of the late Lois R. Adams; loving father of George W. "Bill" (Joan) Adams III, Michael A. Adams, Lisa A. (Doug) Adamsky, Laura Lee (Pat) McQueeney, and the late Joe R. Adams; caring grandfather of Garrison Reed, Kevin, Annette and Michael Reed Adams, Malley and Jay D. Adamsky, and Shannon and Brady McQueeney; also survived by many nieces and nephews; and preceded in death by three sisters and a brother. George proudly served in the US Army in World War II. He earned his BS in Education at Glenville State College where he participated in football and baseball. He earned an M. Ed. at WVU, then, in 1949, began teaching at Sutton High School (WV). He taught, served as principal, and coached (3 sports) until he joined Nationwide Insurance in 1956. In 1972, he established the George Adams Nationwide Agency where he worked until 2011. He was active in Carnegie Rotary until 2012. Outside of work, George's interests included singing in church choir and South Hills Chorale, working on his son's farm, and jigsaw puzzles. George held his family dear and especially enjoyed "coaching" and spending time with his grandchildren. Funeral arrangements by BEINHAUERS. Friends welcome at 2828 Washington Rd., McMurray (724-941-3211), on Sunday from 6-8 p.m. and Monday 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Services will be held Tuesday at 11 a.m. in Christ United Methodist Church.
