Ann Funk was my 10th grade honors English teacher and my mentor on the yearbook staff. She taught me to write and to think critically; she passed along books that weren't on our reading list; she made me feel smarter and, ultimately, be smarter. Her independence, her candor, her sharp wit, and the stories of her travels made a deep impression on me and certainly expanded my notions about the sort of person I could grow up to be.

Ann was the "go to" gal in the English department. Whenever one had a question about grammar, convention, etc., Ann was consulted because of her expertise. I so enjoyed her quick wit and admired her clear understanding of issues. She was indeed special. My sympathies to her family.

Ms. Funk was my AP English teacher and our yearbook (the Log) sponsor. She was one of the most influential teachers I've ever had and her influence continues to impact my own teaching. My deepest sympathy to her family and friends.

Ann was truly a gifted teacher and a valued staff member. She was often memtioned as the most influential teacher in a student's career at Mt. Lebanon High School. I valued her as fellow teacher and as a member of my faculty at Mt. Lebanon High School.

A dear friend--over the years and over
the miles--since l965. A true friend,
a dear companion. Ann bridged cultures
and generations and did so with good
humor and optimism. She was the visitor we were always sorry to see go.
A journey with Ann always turned into
an adventure. There is an empty place
where she ought to be.

Ann was a very special person to me. I admired her as a colleague at Mt. Lebanon High School and as a friend until the day she died. She was one of the most genuine, generous and funny women I know. She had lasting friendships with people of all ages, I will miss her not being in my life
