JACK SCASSERA Jr. Obituary
SCASSERA JACK, Jr.
Age 72, of Monroeville, passed away on February 11, 2018. He is survived by his wife of 49 years, Lucia; two children, Joseph and Gina; five grandchildren, Blake, Dominic, Mia, Victor and Salvatore; and two great-granddaughters, Aire'Ona and Aira'Bella. He is also survived by his sisters, Gloria and Susie; and his brother, Nick. Jack was born in Pittsburgh (Larimer Ave. area) and was the beloved son of the late Jack, Sr. and Mary Scassera. He graduated from Wilkinsburg H.S. in 1964 and later served his country as a Seabee in the US Navy. Jack married Lucia in 1968 and later became a plumber at Westinghouse, before retiring from Allegheny County at the age of 62. He was a member of the Plumbers Local 27. Jack would proudly tell you that he coached Wilkinsburg Midget Football and Little League baseball as he led the Phillies to the championship in the early '80s. In his retirement, he enjoyed his grandchildren and great-grandchildren and followed his Pitt Panthers and Pittsburgh Steelers each and every weekend. Friends will be received Wednesday 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. at the JOBE FUNERAL HOME & CREMATORY, INC. (MONROEVILLE / PLUM CHAPEL), corner of (445) Beatty Rd. and 48 North, Monroeville (412-856-4747). Mass of Christian Burial at St. Bernadette Parish Thursday, 10:30 a.m. Everyone please meet at church. Interment will be private.
