Age 84, born on December 30, 1928 in Saskatoon, Saskatchewan, Canada, resident of Fox Chapel, Harmar Township, Dr. Finlay passed away at home peacefully, surrounded by his family and close friends on Saturday, September 28, 2013. Son of Homer Finlay, M.D. and Paula (Menner) Finlay; beloved husband of 59 years to Do (Lynn); brother of Betz (Finlay) Ulman; loving father of twin sons, Mark (Janice) Finlay and Kevin (Cheryl) Finlay; daughters, Susan (Finlay) Elsberg, Laurie (Finlay) Butler, and Beth (Finlay) LaHue; dear grandfather of Caitlyn (Wendell) Miller, Dane Wendell, Morgan (Wendell) Parks, James Finlay (fiancée Chelsea Cox), Elizabeth Elsberg, RJ LaHue, Ian Finlay, Andrew Finlay, Sara Finlay, Emily Elsberg, Garth LaHue, and Grant LaHue; great-grandfather of McLane Miller and Lucy Wendell. Dr. Finlay graduated from Wilkinsburg High School, earned his Bachelor of Science degree from Harvard University and his M.D. degree in Ophthalmology from the University of Pittsburgh. He practiced Ophthalmology for 50 years in the Pittsburgh area and served in the U.S. Navy. No Visitation. A Memorial Service will be held Thursday, October 3, 2013 at 11 a.m. at the Fox Chapel Presbyterian Church, 384 Fox Chapel Road.
