JEAN (ACKMAN) SKIRPAN Obituary
SKIRPAN JEAN (ACKMAN)

It is with great sadness and joy that our dearly beloved and cherished Mother went home on Saturday, December 1, 2018 to begin eternal life with Jesus and be reunited with her two sons, Jeff and Scott Skirpan. She missed Jeff and Scott dearly. Born in Oakdale, PA on April 26, 1930, and raised in Monongahela, PA, a town that she loved. She missed her friend, Ray, of the same town, and talked of him often. Our Mom was a strong, humble, kind, caring, and graceful lady. She was a single, divorced mother in the 1970s and worked three jobs to take care of and raised six children alone. She loved to watch Downton Abbey, her favorite show and she loved her flowers in the garden. Our mom loved to take photos and leaves behind a treasure of thousands of photos she had taken over the years of her family for us to cherish. Her greatest legacy was the love for her children and grandchildren. She is the beloved mother of the late Jeff and Scott Skirpan; surviving children, Mark (Karen), Keith (Becky), Sandy, and Sharon Skirpan; she is the grandmother to Mark, Matthew, Keith, Jake, Jessica, and Maddy Skirpan; great-grandmother to Keith, Emily, Rylee, Marlee, Emilee Skirpan, and Elijah Goodall; she will be forever cherished and dearly missed by special loving grandsons, Nathan and Eathen Kiszer and Jake Skirpan. They will never forget her and will always keep her in their hearts. Visitation for family and friends is Saturday, December 8, from 12-1 p.m. at The Church of the Atonement, 618 Washington Avenue, Carnegie, PA. A Memorial Service to follow at 1 p.m., all are welcome. Interment will follow at St. John Lutheran Cemetery in Collier Twp., where she will be laid to rest next to her son, Jeff. You only have one life... love, care, hug, help one another, and be kind. We love you Mom. Memorial donations, if desired, may be made to The Bradley Center, 5180 Campbells Run Rd., Pittsburgh, PA 15205. Funeral arrangements by HENNEY, BRADWELL & NIRELLA FUNERAL HOME, Carnegie.
