To Joan's family and friends:

I knew Joan for more than 25 years. She became my friend through a mutual friend, and unfortunately when we drifted apart, so did Joan and I. About 6 years ago we reconnected as I was looking to switch jobs. Joan offered to help and gave me contact information (and I assume a recommendation) for her company. I was granted an interview thanks to her help. I didn't get hired but the fact that she did that for me meant so much to me, especially after not hearing from me in over 10 years. That was Joan. Always giving what she could and asking for little, if anything, in return. I have been stunned and heartbroken since hearing the news. The world is not a better place than it was a few weeks ago, but heaven surely is. I continue to pray for Joan and you, that you can find peace in this difficult time.

My condolences to the family of Joan Alderdice.

Joan was a very special woman who I met while she was working at at Crenshaw's. The last time I saw her I was visiting at her apartment in downtown Erie. We agreed to get together for lunch and with all good intensions never did. I was crushed to learn the news today. Joan was a kind person that I am blessed to have known. May God fill the empty void in your life and the happy memories bring smiles in years to come. Whenever I see Marilyn Monroe I will think of her.

My deepest sympathy to your family. Joan was a very energetic and kind person. I had a chance to work with her and she always brought a smile and laughter with her. We used to keep a "stupid comments" board- her idea of course- and every once in awhile, when we needed a laugh, we would read that board. She will be sadly missed. God bless you and keep you and grant you His peace.

I just heard the news from someone both Joan and I knew. My heart hurts and I am so sorry for your loss. Even though Joan and I lost contact over that past few years she was always my best friend and I loved her dearly.

Joan was such a beautiful person. I had the pleasure of working with her at Lord Corporation. She never failed to greet everyone with a smile and always had the best candy in the jar on her desk. A great example of what a lady truly is. She will be greatly missed.

To the Alderdice Family,

I'm so very sorry to hear of your loss. I knew Joan 20 years ago when we worked at G. Thanks together. We spent a summer together one year when she was home from college, going out every night, meeting people and having a great time. Joan was a wonderful lady: classy, composed, funny and with the most infectious laugh. I'm embarrassed that I didn't keep in touch with her, as I read through the guestbook from her many friends. Joan's vivacious personality touched everyone around her. How tragic to hear that's she's passed so young. I'll always remember what a warm and wonderful person she was.

My sincerest condolences,
Lauren (Moser) Rosenthal

One does not easily forget how much Joan enjoyed life. She was a wonderful co-worker and enjoyed a good time. Few can fill her (many) shoes.

May God Bless you Joannie.

To Joan's family:

I can still remember the first time I met Joan in 1988! She came into the staffing service I worked at. What a doll she was. We stayed in contact for several years and I was so sad to hear of her early passing. It was a pleasure to know her and as others have indicated, the memory of her special personality will endure. My sympathies to you all.

Dear family of Joan:
Joan will be missed. She had a vibrant personality and was always involved in helping with Lord Corporation activities. She had a heart of gold and would help any body. She thoroughly enjoyed Toastmasters. Her mini-shoe collection displayed on her desk outgrew the area. My deepest condolences to the entire family.

To Joan Family
I worked with Joannie at Lord. She was my Secretary. Joan will be missed. I remember her tiny Shoe collection and all the knick-knacks she kept on her desk. Joan was alway an optimist and her SMILE greeted everyone who entered the Test Lab office.
She will be sadly missed but never forgotten. My prayer to all of you..

To Joan's family:

Joan and I worked together for a while in the test lab at Lord Corporation. I loved that gal. So full of life and she always made me feel like part of her group. Joan, myself and one of the guys used to go out for dinner about once a month. We always had a great time especially around our birthdays which were a few days apart. I will always hold those memories close to my heart.

With deepest sympathy

My deepest sympathy. I worked with Joan at LORD and had the pleasure of getting to know her through Toastmasters. She had a wonderful spirit and the ability to make others smile. Everytime I see a set porcelain shoes I think of her. She touched many lives in a positive way. Her name will always bring a smile to my face. May she rest in the peace she deserved.

Dear Pat and family, I just found out about Joan today from Kay Hannegan. I am so very sorry for your loss. She was a very special person. I am ashamed of myself for not keeping in touch on a steady basis. I will pray for you and your family and for Joanie. If I am not mistaken, today is her birthday. We were in Ft. Lauderdale on this day in 1986, today is also the day that my father died in 2001, and my fiancee in 2004. It is an extra difficult day now, Joan will remain in my heart and my memories.
