JOHN "JAY"
79, of Oakmont, passed away at his residence with his family by his side on Tuesday, May 21, 2013. Beloved husband for 57 years of Sue (Loeffler) Flanagan; loving father of Tricia Giovanetti, Stacey (Drew) Quinio, and the late Lisa Flanagan; brother of the late James Flanagan; dear grandfather of Chris Altman, Melissa (Tim) Metz, Jillian Altman, Nicholas, Chloe, and Monique Giovanetti, Cole and Jay Quinio and the late John Altman; great-grandfather of Zoey, Owen, and Laila Metz. Jay owned and operated Flanagan's Beauty Shop in Aspinwall from 1959-1998. He was a member of the Rosedale Sportsman Club where he served as a past trustee, and a member of the Konne-Yaut Indians Trap Shooting Association. He was known for his many skeet medals and was known to his skeet shooting friends as the "Legend". Jay proudly served his country in the Army during the Korean War. Friends and relatives will be received on Wednesday, May 22, 2013 from 2-4 and 6-9 p.m. at the BURKET-TRUBY FUNERAL HOME CREMATION & ALTERNATIVE SERVICES, INC., 421 Allegheny Ave., Oakmont. Funeral Service 11 a.m. Thursday, May 23, in the funeral home. Memorial donations may be made to Oakmont Presbyterian Church, 415 Pennsylvania Ave., Oakmont, 15139. Visit us online at:
