JOHN P. "JACK", JR.
Age 72, and lifelong resident of Mt. Lebanon, passed away peacefully at home on Wednesday evening, July 24, 2013. Born July 6, 1941, son of the late John and Veronica Spicuzza; beloved husband for over 49 years of Lucia Cicchino Spicuzza; loving father of Theresa M. (Robert) West, John P. (Suzanne) Spicuzza, David S. (Tracy) Spicuzza and Donna L. (Bryan) Garabo; proud papa and teacher of life lessons to eleven grandchildren, Alec, Veronica, Noah, Palmer, Nicholas, Olivia, Michael, Megan, Lucia, Talea and Isabella; brother of Philip R. (Patricia) Spicuzza and Sandra Smonko; son-in-law of Flora Cicchino; brother-in-law of Nikki (Bob) Busch and Michele (Rick) Cepko. Also survived by many nieces and nephews. Jack served the community of Mt. Lebanon as a volunteer fireman for 30 years and as a respected baseball and softball coach. He was a father and mentor to Joseph Robinson and a trusted advisor to all those who sought his wisdom. His professional career as a research chemist and industry pioneer spanned nearly forty years with Sinclair, Koppers, Arco Chemical and JSP International, earning several patents and much respect for his accomplishments. Jack will be sadly missed but infinitely celebrated by his family for his faith, his selflessness, his generosity and his love: "Everything for the family." Friends will be received at LAUGHLIN MEMORIAL CHAPEL, 222 Washington Road, Mt. Lebanon, FRIDAY (Today) 2:00-4:00 and 6:00-8:00 p.m. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated in Saint Anne Church, Saturday morning at 9:30. Entombment will follow in Queen of Heaven Mausoleum.
