MARGARET J. GIANGARLO Obituary
GIANGARLO MARGARET J.

It is with great sadness that the family of Marge Giangarlo announces her sudden passing on Thursday, September 13, 2018 at the age of 92.  Marge was called home to be with her Lord and Savior.  She was surrounded by her loving family.  Born June 13, 1926 in Victoria, PA, she was the daughter of the late Mary and Elias Nassar of Clairton, PA. Marge will be forever remembered by her children, Sandi DeMaio Angelo of Jefferson Hills and Denise DeMaio Potter of Port Vue, PA; grandmother to Christopher (Amy) Angelo of Jefferson Hills and Amanda Potter of San Francisco; survived by her brother, Gabriel Nassar (Sharon); and sister-in-law, Fran Baldock.  Also survived by a large extended family of nieces, nephews and cousins. She was preceded in death by her husband, Julio Giangarlo; grandson, Bryan Angelo; son-in-law, William Planich; sisters, Pauline (Geno) Tolari, Jean (Edward) Jamison, Evelyn (Johnny) Reoli, Rosemarie Nassar; brothers, Alex (Marie) Nassar, Mitchell (Betsy Jo) Nassar; sister-in-law to the late John Policastro, Attilio Policastro and Vincent Giangarlo. Marge was a woman of faith and a very active member of the St. George Orthodox Cathedral of Oakland, President of the Ladies Society, and a member of the order of St. Ignatius. She will long be remembered as a hard-working servant of God, putting her faith in God and her family first. She encouraged us to trust and leave all troubles in his hands. She was an excellent cook and loved family gatherings at her home.  Family members found love, laughter, food, and advice whenever they walked through her door.  She was the matriarch of the Nassar family. Her friends and neighbors always felt a warm welcome to her home and usually left with a care package of food and wisdom. May her memory be eternal as she joins our family of angels in the arms of our Lord. Visitation will be held on Monday, September 17th at JEFFERSON MEMORIAL FUNERAL HOME, 301 Curry Hollow Rd., Pleasant Hills, PA 15236, from 2 – 8 p.m.  Trisagion prayers will be held at 7 p.m. Mass of a Christian Orthodox Burial will be held on Tuesday, September 18th at 11 a.m., at St. George Orthodox Cathedral, 3400 Dawson Street, Oakland, 15213. There will also be visitation at this location from 10 – 11 a.m.  A celebration of life will be held after. Location will be announced after the funeral. Donations may be made to St. George Orthodox Cathedral capital fund.
