Paul Gibson Obituary
Age 94, of Fox Chapel, died peacefully on Monday, February 23, 2009 surrounded by his college sweetheart and wife of 67 years Mary (Yorke) Gibson and daughters, Patricia Milligan of Sewickley and Pam Gibson of Fox Chapel. Paul was born in Harrisville, PA to Harry and Cora Gibson. He was preceded in death by his two brothers, Don and Earl. He graduated from Harrisville High School, President of his Class and Captain of his championship basketball team. He received a full basketball scholarship to Carnegie Institute of Technology (CMU). His senior year he was Captain of his championship basketball team; receiving the most valuable player award and trophy. A natural athlete, he also won awards in tennis, golf, bowling and even ping pong. During WWII he served 4 years in the Pacific on a destroyer as a Lt. J.G. in the U.S. Navy. After the war he was employed as a manufacturers rep for commercial printers. There will be no visitation. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Saturday, February 28 at 10:30am in St. Scholastica Church, Aspinwall. Interment private. In lieu of flowers, remembrances may be made in his name to St. Scholastica Church, 309 Brilliant Ave., Pgh, PA 15215. Arrangements by WEDDELL - AJAK FUNERAL HOME, Aspinwall.

Dear Aunt Mary, Trish and Pam,
I was so sorry to hear about Uncle Gibby. What a wonderful man he was. I have found memories of him that I will treasure. I am sure my Dad was able to welcome your Dad home. I know they are both watching over us.
