Loving husband of Kathy (Alton) Krause of 26 years; dear father of Matthew, Katie, and Joanna Krause; son of Paul Daniel Krause and Maureen (Connerty) Krause; stepson of Maureen (Newman) Krause, all of Illinois; beloved brother of Greg (Kathy) Krause, Mary (Mike) Orr, Brian (Beckie) Krause, Theresa (Joe) Stubitz, Matthew (Christine) Krause, Colleen (Brian) Thomas; stepbrother of Hollie Newman; son-in-law of Sue Alton; brother-in-law of David (Coreen) Alton, Mary (Thom) Stickel, Sue (Chris) McPherson, Mark (Deni) Alton, J.T. (Linda) Alton, John (Val) Alton; best friend of Toulouse and Otis; also survived by numerous nieces and nephews. Friends welcome Wednesday 1 - 8 p.m. in the PATRICK T. LANIGAN FUNERAL HOME, 700 Linden Ave. at Cable, East Pittsburgh 412-824-8800. I worked for Paul at Kazansky's many years ago. He shared many stories with me, mostly sports related as football (Vikings and Steelers) and Pirate's baseball were his favorites. I worked many late nights and weekends during my couple of years there and Paul always had a life lesson to share with me. He was very straight forward and told me how it was. I needed that at the time. I found this website as of this evening and it is sad to learn that he has passed on. I believe he is in a better place and one day we will see him again. It was an honor to work beside him during my time in Pittsburgh. God bless. :)

This is the first time I have seen this guest book.
All who knew Maureen and her family were shocked at the sudden loss of Paul W. "P.K." Kraus. Years ago, I had hoped to see Paul and his crew at Kazansky's, as my son-in-law hails from there. My thoughts and prayers are with all of his family and friends to whom he has left great love, incredible memories, and a true joy of life.

Oh my god, I just heard about this today. I am so sorry. I worked for Paul as a deli clerk at Kazansky's, and even now he still is the best boss I've ever had. He taught me how important it is to be good to the people who work for you. He was generous and funny and one hell of a chef.
