Just came across this very sad news. I had several classes with Peter when we both attended Pitt. So sorry for his family and everyone who loved him.

Dear Stephanie and Peter, I heard of the both of you from Joni Perri. She gave me your number to check on her. I am so sorry for your losses. My deepest sympathy. I hope she spoke of me to you also.

I was sad to learn of this. We announced Peter's name at prayer call and a few people on the congregation were visibly stunned - poets and artists, all of them. Shows you how much he was loved. Thinking of you all and sending you peaceful thoughts. Love, Jen Saffron

Dear Stephanie, My sister-in-law Cheryl Klein e-mailed me regarding your husband's passing. I remember you so fondly from school and Beth Shalom Purim plays. I am so sorry to hear of your loss. My prayers are with you and your family. Jeff Landerman

I never met Peter in person, but he was so helpful and encouraging when I was preparing my novel about the Homestead Strike for publication in 2011. I enjoyed his series on Pittsburgh novels--so many! My condolences to his family on the passing of this kind and very talented man.

I grew up in Ford City and we went to high school together. Our fathers both worked at PPG. Peter and I were chosen to be short-term exchange students with two students from Scarsdale, NY. Off we went on our first plane ride to experience two weeks in a place so different from Ford City. Two very small town kids going to the big city! We had a wonderful experience. I saw this post on facebook this morning through Janet Oresick. I am so sorry for your loss. I knew Peter was a special person though I had not seen him in a long time. His picture brought tears to my eyes - he has the same warm eyes and smile. When I lost my mother to an accident everyone always told me to remember the good times and that is my advice to you. Always remember the good times. Elaine Yates Morgenstern

I was so saddened to hear of Peter's passing. Yes, I do remember, Stefanie when you were dating him. You made such a handsome couple. I also remember him from Pitt as I worked there for many years with your Mom. May he rest in peace. Gone too soon.
