Mr. Ralph B. Adams, age 94, of Yulee, Florida passed away on Friday evening, November 6, 2009 at Baptist Medical Center - Jacksonville. Born in Pittsburgh, PA, he was the oldest of ten children born to Lorenzo Ralph and Sadie Wilson Adams. Mr. Adams and his wife had moved to Nassau County in 1991 from Asheville, NC. They had lived for many years and raised their family in the Philadelphia, PA area. In the early 1980s, they located to Asheville, NC. He had worked as a Licensed Electrician for many years; in residential construction. While living in Philadelphia he was a member of the Fairview Golf and Country Club.Raised in the Methodist church; after moving to Yulee, Mr. Adams became a member of St. Peter's Episcopal Church in Fernandina Beach. He leaves behind, his wife of 67 years, Alice Wilson Adams, Yulee, FL, three daughters, Joyce Adams Frink (Neil), Fernandina Beach, FL, Beverly Adams Mantz, Washington, DC, Xernna Adams Davis (William), Veronna, PA, a brother, John Adams, Pittsburgh, PA, three sisters, Ida Jackson, Pittsburgh, PA, Sadie Harris, Pittsburgh, PA, Jeanne Daniels, Silver Spring, MD, grandchildren, Sharif Frink, Oakland, CA, Glenn Davis (Andrea), Xernna Wright (Joseph), Myrna White (Jerry), Olivia D. Walker, all of Pittsburgh, PA, eight great-grandchildren, twenty great-great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews. The family will receive friends from 5:00 -7:00 pm on Wednesday at OXLEY - HEARD FUNERAL HOME. Funeral services will be at 11:00 am, Thursday, from St. Peter's Episcopal Church, Fernandina Beach with Reverend George Young, officiating. Mr. Adams will be laid to rest in the family section of Green Pine Cemetery.
