On Monday, March 25, 2013, a Priest of the Pittsburgh Diocese for 53 years, died at the age of 78. He was the son of Richard L. Conboy and Julia Hudson Conboy, and was born in Pittsburgh, where he attended St. James School in Wilkinsburg and Central Catholic High School in Pittsburgh's Oakland neighborhood. In 1960, he obtained a Licentiate in Sacred Theology from St. Mary's Seminary and University in Baltimore, MD. He was ordained on March 25, 1960, by Bishop John Wright at St. Paul Cathedral in Pittsburgh, and served in various ministries throughout the diocese, the last of which was Chaplain at the Felician Sisters from 1996 until 2012. He was preceded in death by his parents and is survived by his sister, Kathleen Filson of Savannah, GA and the following nieces and nephews, Maryanne Fahey, Elizabeth Filson, Daniel J. Filson, Kathleen Prince, Susanna Powers, Richard Filson, John D. Filson, all of Savannah; and dear friend, Janice Levine. Friends will be received in the Felician Sisters Convent, 1500 Woodcrest Ave., Coraopolis, PA on Sunday, March 31 from 2 p.m. until 8 p.m., with a Wake Service at 7 p.m. Following the Wake Service, Father will be translated to the Convent Chapel. Further viewing will be on Monday, from 9 a.m. until time of Mass at 10 a.m. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated by the Most Reverend David A. Zubik, Bishop of Pittsburgh, on Monday, April 1 at 10 a.m. in the Convent Chapel. The family requests that in lieu of flowers, donations be made to the Felician Sisters at 1500 Woodcrest Ave., Coraopolis, PA. Arrangements by ANTHONY J. SANVITO, INC.
