1945 - 2018 Obituary Condolences
Of Upper St. Clair, passed away after a lengthy illness at Friendship Village of South Hills on Wednesday, May 16, 2018. Born in Texarkana, Texas on March 10, 1945, to the late Clarence and Hallie Halbert Jacobs. Sister of the late Robert Edward Jacobs. She is survived by her devoted husband of 51 years, Frank; daughters, Cynthia Buckholt (Aric) and Susan Gordon (Tom); and grandchildren, (Amanda, John and Kristen Buckholt). A 1969 graduate of Lamar State College (Lamar University). She was a teacher and homemaker. She enjoyed domestic and foreign travel including a number of trips to Europe, UK and Scandinavia. Rita was an avid tennis player and later a golfer and most proud of her hole in one. She was an active member of Christ United Methodist Church, St. Clair Country Club and Southern Club. The family wants to extend their heartfelt gratitude to Prime Time Adult Day Care and its excellent staff (Christ United Methodist Church), and to Friendship Village's Special Care Unit that provided superior and loving care during the final phase of her life. In lieu of flowers, it is suggested donations in her memory may be made to Prime Time Adult Care, Inc., 44 Highland Park Road, Bethel Park, PA 15102 or Friendship Village Team Member Appreciation Fund (TMAF), 1290 Boyce Road, Upper St. Clair, PA 15241. Arrangements handled by BEINHAUERS (724-941-3211). A memorial service will be held on Saturday at 3 p.m. in Christ United Methodist Church with a reception to follow.
