68, of White Oak, PA, died Wednesday, January 16, 2013 at UPMC McKeesport. He was born December 8, 1944 in McKeesport, a son of the late Joseph and Betty Farkas Gergely and brother of the late Richard Gergely. Robert was a retired train engineer for US Steel Christy Park Works. He was a member of the Beulah Park United Methodist Church in McKeesport, the Corvette Club of Western PA, the F. & A.M. Lodge #731 and Posey's Corner Campground. He was an avid Lionel Train collector and loved to fish. He is survived by his sons, Marc J. (Debbie) Gergely of White Oak and their children, Nicole, A.J. and Olivia, Matthew R. (Holly) Gergely of McKeesport and their son, Mason; loving companion of 16 years, Debbie DeFelice; several nieces and nephews. Friends will be received on Saturday from 5 to 8 p.m. and Sunday from 12 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. at the JAYCOX - JAWORSKI FUNERAL HOME, INC., 2703 O'Neil Boulevard, McKeesport, PA 15132. Funeral Services will be held on Monday at 11:00 a.m. with Pastor Kathleen Barnhart officiating in the Beulah Park United Methodist Church, corner of Grandview and Grover Avenues, McKeesport. (EVERYONE PLEASE MEET AT THE CHURCH). Interment will follow in the McKeesport-Versailles Cemetery.
