Remembering My Mother-in-Law.....
I will always remember her standing in the kitchen, and the first thing she would ask "Did you eat"? Here, sit down let me make you something". Before you could say "No Thank you" There was salami, cheese, bread wine, pasta, tomato salad, melangani (eggplant), greens and beans and anything else she was preparing or had pepared recently out on the table, and well, you could not say no to any of her homemade food. Everyone who came into her home felt welcome and never ever left hungry or without a care package for home. She taught me how to cook when I first married her son Bob, and even though I have tried and tried I cannot make my sauce taste like hers. It must be that special "love" ingredient that I just could never get right. Mom,I have missed visiting you for a long time, my boys and I could have enjoyed your company and learned so much more from you had this disease not stolen you away from us.
May God accept you into his home as you have accepted everyone into your home, with a welcoming and loving embrace. Bob, Raffaele, Darlene, Therese, Roseanne, I share your pain and loss and will miss "mom" always.
Love, Connie
