MAHER THOMAS D. "TIM"
On Wednesday, December 19, 2012. Beloved husband of 63 years of the late Frances Niehoff "Frankie" Maher; father of Thomas D. Maher, Jr., M.D. (Yvonne Maher, M.D.) and John C. "Jack" Maher, M.D. (Mary Ellen Maher); grandfather of Tim, Andrew, Michael and Tom Maher, Katie Maher Benchener, M.D., John, Mollie and Will Maher and Beth Maher Grover. Preceded in death by his parents, R.C. and Elizabeth P. Maher and his brother, Robert C. Maher, M.D. Tim was a graduate of the College of Georgetown University, class of 1939, and the University of Notre Dame Law School, class of 1943. After serving in the U.S. Army during World War II, he returned to Pittsburgh and began his career as an industrial relations attorney. He later pursued a career in investments as a partner with Cunningham, Schmertz & Co. and retired as a vice president of Parker Hunter Co. in 1998. He was a longtime member of St. Scholastica Parish. Friends will be received on Friday 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. at JOHN A. FREYVOGEL SONS, INC., 4900 Centre Avenue at Devonshire Street(www.freyvogelfuneralhome.com). Funeral Saturday, Mass of Christian Burial St. Scholastica Church 11:00 a.m.
