WILLIAM RAYBOLD Obituary
Our loving dad, William Raybold, passed away from his battle with Alzheimer's disease. He was 73 years old. Bill was a 1956 graduate of Hampton High School and spent 42 years as an employee of PNC Bank. Prior to moving to Virginia, Bill was a 40 year member of the First Presbyterian Church of Bakerstown. As a dedicated husband, father, brother, son, friend, and Steelers fan, Bill's unwavering love of life and people was endearing. The impact of his genuine kindness left a mark on the lives of strangers and those close to him each and every day of his life. He is survived by his wife of forty three years, Nancy Raybold (Brodmerkel); his son, JR and wife Jen; daughter Heather and husband Matt; grandchildren Tyler, Erik, and Cameron; and several nieces and nephews. A celebration of life will be held on Friday, January 6, 2012 at 11:00 a.m. at the First Presbyterian Church of Bakerstown, 5825 Heckert Road, Bakerstown, PA 15007. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Hospice of Garrett County, P.O. Box, 271 Oakland, MD 21550 or the First Presbyterian Church of Bakerstown. Condolences may be sent to the family at:

I am so sorry to hear of the loss of your husband and father.
Nancy, I've always admired your wonderful relationship with Bill.What loving,caring parents. Always there for their family. I'm so glad I had the opportunity to meet such great people back in the Mars cheerleading days. Bill was always so friendly and quick witted. He made everyone smile!

With condolences on the loss of your father, husband, uncle, grandfather and friend. The mark of a life well lived is not the tears upon its closure, it the smiles that rise up when those sweet memories arrive. I only met Mr. Raybold while he was on his slow journey away from us. It was immediately evident he was a man of joy who loved his family, and would forever live on through them. Each one of his children and his grandchildren are his gift to us. For those gifts and the legend of a man with a hearty smile, and a large hand and heart that embraced even the newest of friends; I am very grateful. May peaceful moments of quiet reflection fill your hearts and your days in the weeks and months ahead. With affection and respect to all of you carrying on his legacy.

Dad,
The last two weeks have been among the hardest Jen, Heather, Matt, and I have had to endure. Watching you slip away the last few days hurt more than I ever thought possible. I thought I was ready to say good bye to you, but I quickly realized on December 30th how truly much I loved my father and the void that was created when you left this side of God's creation. However, I found great comfort and peace on Friday when 250 of your friends and family came to pay their respects to the man they loved and adored. Dad, I have always known you were an amazing man. But to see so many people from your past and present that too feel that same way, it was incredibly humbling and inspiring. You used every day of your life to do great things for others and you lived every day to the fullest. You are as genuine, sincere, and kind as they come. And that is why so many people are proud to call you friend. You are the best man I will ever know and it has been an honor and privilege to call you my father! I love you and promise to do all I can to honor your name and the legacy you have left in all of us. Don't forget whose dad you are. Until we meet again on the other side ( I may need your help on that ticket in ), I love you dad and I will never forget you.

My family was very saddened to hear of the loss of your husband and father. There are not words to describe what a wonderful and loving man he was. Mr. Bill will always be remembered and loved. Nancy - I was so sorry to hear of Bill's passing. When I remember you and Bill together I see two happy people and smiles galore - you two were so joyful together and Bill's legacy lives on in you and your children. Uncle Bill was not just a uncle he was like a father. He was a amazing and caring man. We will miss him. I will never forget all the good times we had at Raystown and snowmobiling at the farm! I was saddened to hear of the passing of Bill. I worked at PNC for 12 years and worked on the same floor as Bill. During that time, I got to know Bill well. He was a great guy and had a great (fun) sense of humor. I'm sure he will be missed by all who knew him.
