Marianne, Bob and Janet,
I just heard from my mother the news about the passing of your father and wanted to tell you that you and your family are in our prayers. Although it has been a long time, I fondly remember when I visit my mom on Garrick Drive and pass your house, the walks along the street your dad would take and the times he and my dad would stop, and spend time together talking about the old days, the kids and the Garrick Drive block parties. I consider your dad and mine the Mayors of Garrick Drive. My dad passed about 2 years ago and I miss him dearly. From the entire Crisanti Family our prayers are with you.

Dear Marianne & Family,
Please accept my heartfelt condolences on the passing of your father. I know how solicitous you were of him, especially after the passing of your mother 5 years ago.
A cultured person of superior intellect who was both modest & unassuming, your father led a distinguished personal & professional life. His beautiful smiling eyes are indelibly etched in my mind; I see them when i look at you my dearest friend.
Love always,
Doranne

Dear Marianne and Family,
I remember both your parents well, enjoying many dinners at your home during our college years. I admired and respected them both. My condolences on your recent loss of your father. I know how much you cared about him.

Richard Carlton MacCamy was a terrific teacher. I don't know a lot about his research, but I can tell you this -- he gave me a chance to prove myself when no one else would. I'm honored to be the last of his academic descendants.
On a few occasions, when a student of mine has been struggling and isn't sure he can make it in mathematics, I tell him about the guy who once gave me an "F" in a graduate course, but later took me under his wing as a dissertation student and guided me to a doctorate. I now chair the Department of Mathematics, Computer Science, and Software Engineering at the University of Detroit Mercy, and I owe a lot of that to him.
Failure is a temporary condition -- success is forever. Also, humanity is a more integral part of mathematics than is ever mentioned in a textbook or research publication. These were the most important things Professor MacCamy taught me.

Dear MacCamy Children,
Dick and I spent many hours playing tennis and discussing math and physics in his office. He and Fae were good friends to me. I am sorry for your loss of both of them. They were truly caring people.
