Obituary Condolences

Of the South Side of Pittsburgh, PA. Born May 25, 1919, in South Mahoning Township (Indiana County) to William and Stella (Van Horn) Gearhart. Mrs. Cogley was a dietary aide at Children's Hospital of Pittsburgh until her retirement in 1989. She then volunteered for the Arlington Heights Meals-On-Wheels until the early 2000s, for which she was recognized by the Post-Gazette as a "Community Champion" in 1999. Mrs. Cogley is survived by a brother, William Gearhart and a sister, Clara Riffle, both of Akron, Ohio; children, Josephine (John) Gatto, Constance (John) Welsh, John (Andrea) Cogley, Sr.; grandchildren, John Glenn (Robin) Welsh, Richard Scott (Sherri) Welsh, Karl Kamerling, John Arthur (Candie) Cogley, Jr. and Nicholas Andrew Cogley. Mrs. Cogley had four great -grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews; as well as an extended family of loving step-grandchildren and step great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, John Cogley; two brothers, Lester Gearhart and one infant brother and sisters, Lois Hartzell, Lottie DeHaven, Frances Larue Geiger, and Gertrude Smith. Friends will be received on Saturday at the JEFFERSON MEMORIAL FUNERAL HOME INC., 301 Curry Hollow Road, Pleasant Hills, from 1-3:30 p.m. A service will be held in the chapel at 3:30 p.m., entombment to follow at Jefferson Memorial Park Mausoleum.
