Obituary Condolences

Passed from this life to the eternal one due to complications from aggressive thyroid cancer on Tuesday morning, May 1, 2012. He and his wife of almost 59 years, who survives him, Barbara Ann (Adams) Fichtner, celebrate that they both received the Life of Christ 35 years ago and therefore ask you to rejoice with them in Jack's putting on of immortality. Born on October 8, 1933, Jack spent nearly 60 years in the electrical industry, as an engineer, salesman, and contractor, actively working until just a month ago. There were few who knew their trade or served their customers better than Jack. Jack and Barbara attended Mount Paran North Church of God with vigor and enthusiasm, and want to thank their many friends there are who, indeed, "closer than a brother." In addition to Barbara, Jack is survived by a close family, who honor their father and brother as a man of God who became their hero. Daughter Karen Fichtner Hammond, husband Charles (Wayne), and sons Sam and Ben, of Monroe, GA; daughter Margaret (Peggy) Fichtner Moore and husband Michael Moore, of Gulf Shores, AL; son John G. Fichtner, Jr., wife Beth Rorvig Fichtner, and son John David and daughter Gemma of Marietta, GA; son Eric Fichtner, wife Jonni Kincaid Fichtner, and son Peter, son Stephen, daughter Barbara (Joy), son Isaiah, daughter Abby, and son Daniel of Marietta, GA; daughter Julia Fichtner Krahm, husband John, and son Matthew and daughter Grace, of West Stockbridge, MA; son David Fichtner, wife Carolyn, and daughter Rachel Fichtner Porter, daughter Ina, daughter Ilga, son Michael, son Jonathon, and daughter Anne Marie, of Auburn, AL; sister Patricia Fichtner Bram and husband Robert of Pittsburgh, PA; brother Robert Fichtner and wife Stephanie of North Huntingdon, PA.
