XIDIS LOUIS A.
88, of Steubenville, died Sunday, May 6, 2012, at Presbyterian Hospital. He was born June 3, 1923 in Pittsburgh. He is the son of the late Anthony and Aphrodite Antzis Xidis. Louis is also preceded in death by his three sisters, Athena Xidis, Katherine Kalivas and Helen Xidis. Louis retired as the superintendent of the metallurgical Dept. from Wheeling Pittsburgh Steel with 30 years of service, and served his country in the Army during WWII. Surviving are his wife, Nina Lardis Xidis, whom he married April 20, 1958; one son, Tony Xidis of Steubenville; one sister, Sophie (Bob) James of Mt. Lebanon; and four nieces and nephews. Louis was a member of Holy Trinity Greek Orthodox Church and its Senior Citizens. He was on the board of Junior achievement and Holy Trinity Greek Orthodox Church and was an agent for the Ohio Technical Transfer Organization for the former Jefferson Technical college. Calling hours are Thursday 10:00 a.m. until the time of services at 12 noon at Holy Trinity Greek Orthodox Church, 300 South Fourth St., Fr. Nicholas Halkias will officiate. Entombment in Union Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations may be given to Holy Trinity Greek Orthodox Church. Offer condolences:
