Age 92, a lifelong resident of Coraopolis, passed away peacefully, surrounded by her loving family on Friday, May 18, 2012, at West Hills Health and Rehab. She was born in Coraopolis on Aug. 12, 1919, to the late Thomas and Etta (Goss) McCombs. In 1972, she was preceded in death by her beloved husband for 30 years, Raymond J. Carney; loving mother of Thomas R. Carney (Judi) of Claysville, Gary R. Carney (Joyce) of Moon, Jean Hudzinski (Matt) of North Hills, and Timothy Carney of Grove City; cherished grandmother of Tami, Traci, Wendy, David, Drew, Trish, and Tiana; proud great- grandmother of Tess, Justin, and Taryn; sister of Elva Johanson of Englewood, FL, and the late Clifford McCombs and Margery Engh. She graduated from Coraopolis High, class of 1937, and Duff's Business School. Emma Jean was retired from Sales at Fisher Control, and was a former bookkeeper at Simpson's Office Supplies. She was a lifelong member of Presbyterian Church of Coraopolis, where she served as a deacon. She was also a member of the PTA, Coraopolis Century Club, the Presbyterian Women, and volunteered at the Coraopolis Library. She enjoyed traveling, camping with family, loved the out of doors, reading, playing bridge with friends, and spending holidays with family. She will be remembered as independent, strong, and caring. Visitation Saturday, 6-8, at COPELAND'S CORAOPOLIS, 867 Fifth Ave. Further visitation Sunday from 12:15 p.m. until time of service at 1 p.m. at the Presbyterian Church of Coraopolis. Rev. Dr. Thomas Petrosky officiating. Burial will be private in Coraopolis Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, family suggests donations to The Presbyterian Church of Coraopolis, 1201 Fifth Ave., Coraopolis, PA 15108.
