Age 96, entered into eternal life on Saturday, October 27, 2012. Leona was born in Pittsburgh, PA, the daughter of the late Henry D. and Ada Willoughby. She grew up in Mt. Lebanon and graduated from the University of Pittsburgh with a dual degree in music and education. She taught piano for many years, and enjoyed playing all of her life. She was predeceased by her siblings, Lynn Willoughby, Walter Willoughby, Lillian Campbell, and Jeanne Probst. Leona was a 68-year member of the Sunset Hills United Presbyterian Church where she taught Sunday School, played the hand bells and enjoyed attending many adult Bible classes. She was also a long-time member of the Mt. Lebanon and Upper St. Clair Women's Clubs, where she played piano accompaniments, won many awards for flower arrangements, and was an avid duplicate bridge player. Leona loved her garden and could always be found outside caring for her flowers and apple trees. She was an excellent seamstress and made many clothes for herself and her family. Leona was the beloved wife of the late Dr. Charles A. Bishop to whom she was married for 67 years. A long-time resident of Upper St. Clair in Pittsburgh, Leona and Charles moved to Delmar, NY in 2004 to be closer to their daughter. She was the loving mother of Barbara (Thomas) Inkpen of Delmar, NY; and the proud grandmother of David (Xephyr) Inkpen, of Rhode Island. She is also survived by her brother-in-law, David Probst and many loving nieces and nephews. Friends will be received on Sunday from 1:30 p.m. until the time of the funeral service at 2:30 p.m. at the JEFFERSON MEMORIAL FUNERAL HOME, INC., 301 Curry Hollow Rd., Pleasant Hills.
