August 23, 1960 to December 19, 2012, firstborn child of Rodney and Julianne Agar of Pittsburgh, PA, died peacefully in Folsom, CA, surrounded by loved ones and listening to his favorite music, 70s classics and Allman Brothers ballads. Born in New York, New York, Tim grew up in Pittsburgh. He received his B.A. in English from Union College and graduated with honors from the University of Arizona with a Master's degree in Journalism. Tim was an avid outdoorsman who enjoyed skiing, fishing, sailing, canoeing, hiking and dirt bike riding. He played soccer competitively from a young age through high school and college and into his 30s. He spent his summers growing up in the Berkshires of Massachusetts where he developed and nurtured a love for nature that continued throughout his life. Tim became an accomplished businessman, excelling in both of his chosen fields of journalism and sales. He was a devoted father to his three children, Robbie, Anna and Katie, instilling in them his unique zest for life, sense of humor and love of the outdoors. There was nothing more important to him than his children, of whom he was fiercely protective and exceedingly proud. He is preceded in death by his younger brother, Robert, and both sets of grandparents. Tim will always be remembered for his generous spirit, his devotion to his family and his friends and his desire to live life to the fullest. In addition to his parents and children, Tim leaves behind his younger sister, Julie (Agar) Connors (Michael); brother, Charles Agar (Autumn); nephews, Patrick and Johnny; nieces, Katie and Frances; aunts, Eunice and Linda; uncles, Paul and Stephen; and many cousins. He loved them all dearly. Tim's absence in the lives of all he touched will be felt deeply and eternally. Everyone who knew him has a great "Tim story" that will be recounted for years to come. A Memorial Service will be held Sat., Jan. 26 at 3 p.m. at St. Paul's Episcopal Church in Mt. Lebanon. A reception at the Agar home will immediately follow. In lieu of flowers, donations to a scholarship fund for the children are gratefully accepted. Please make checks payable to Robert K. Agar, 118 Casselman Street, Folsom, CA 95630.
