Age 88, a resident of Moon Township for over 40 years, passed away on Thursday, July 18, 2013 at RoseCrest Assisted Living in Mars. He was born in Clearfield on May 1, 1925 to the late Joseph and Mary (Yurik) Ferment. Beloved husband for 63 years to Betty Lou (Kretzler) Ferment; an amazing loving father of Andrea Louise Ferment of Ashland, VA, Cheryl Lee Chaborek (Brian) of West Chester, PA, Melinda Jane Badger (Rob) of Prospect, PA and the late Henry Ferment (2005); cherished grandfather of Carleton Andrew Ferment, Victoria Anne Chaborek, Andrew John Chaboreck, and Matthew Raymond Badger; proud great-grandfather of Lucas Andrew Ferment. Retiring in 1986, he was a corporate accountant for 38 years for ALCOA. A graduate of Mars High School, he obtained his accounting degree with night classes from Duquesne University. Andy proudly served in the U.S. Army during WWII where he was a tail-gunner, recipient of the Purple Heart and participated in the Ardennes, Rhineland and Central Europe Campaigns. He was a member of St. Margaret Mary Church. An avid golfer and a stalwart friend, he was a loyal member of the Tuesday Night Bon- Air Golf League. Visitation Saturday 11 a.m. until time of Blessing Service at 1 p.m. Father Andrew Fischer officiating at COPELAND'S Moon Township, 981 Brodhead Rd. Burial with military honors will follow at Resurrection Cemetery.
