Obituary Condolences Gallery

Age 85, of Mt. Lebanon, on Thursday, January 23, 2014. Beloved wife for 56 years of the late Nicholas F. Simcic, Jr.; devoted mother of Nicholas III, Peggy (Mike) Milnes, Mary Jane (Tim) Swenson, Paul (Chris), Mary Ann (Brian) Tarbert, Robert, Gregory (Grace) and the late Dr. Kenneth J. Simcic (Mary); sister of Joseph Krotec, Frances Miller, Albert, Richard and the late Helen Krotec; also survived by fifteen grandchildren, one great-granddaughter, nieces and nephews. Marge served in the US Navy during the Korean conflict as a 3rd Class Radioman at the Navy Air Station in Norfolk, VA. She was formerly a teacher with the Diocese of Pittsburgh and active in the Pro-Life Movement. In addition, Marge was very involved at St. Bernard Parish as a member of the Christian Mothers and a Eucharistic Minister. She was an avid gardener and bird watcher. Friends will be welcomed at LAUGHLIN MEMORIAL CHAPEL, 222 Washington Road, Mount Lebanon, Wednesday and Thursday 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated in Saint Bernard Church Friday morning at 10 o'clock. Interment Queen of Heaven Cemetery. If desired, memorials may be made to St. Bernard Angel Fund, 311 Washington Road, Pittsburgh, PA 15216 or Family Hospice, 50 Moffett St., Pgh., PA 15243.
