MICHAEL J. "GEGE" CARNEY Obituary
CARNEY
MICHAEL J. "GEGE"
On Thursday, February 20, 2014. Beloved husband of the late Jeanne C. Carney; cherished father of Michele Bennett (Alvin), Elizabeth Preite (Steve), Thomas Bliss (Kathy), Joann Klingler (Jim), and Jeannine Stevenson (Jim); cherished uncle of Patricia Bliss and Linda Bliss-Flaminio; grandfather of Adam, Jessica, Stevie, Kristen, Alicia, Micah, Derek, Nicole, Matthew, Matthew, Jimmy, Julia, Cassady, and Lexi; great-uncle of Chloe; great-grandfather of Brad, Noah, Arabella, and Adina; brother of Margaret McCauley, Regina Bliss, and Lawrence Carney. In 1965, "Jim" and his loving wife of 57 years, Jeanne, began caring for his ailing sister and her seven children. After her death, Jeanne and "GeGe" raised the children as their own. A proud U.S. Navy veteran of World War II, and a hard working Pepsi man, GeGe had a great sense of humor, was quick with a story and was so easy to like but even easier to love. He will be greatly missed by all those whose lives he touched. Friends will be received at JOHN A. FREYVOGEL SONS, INC., 4900 Centre Avenue at Devonshire Street, Saturday 6-8 p.m. and Sunday 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Funeral Monday, Mass of Christian Burial, St. Valentine Church, 10 a.m.
