MARGARET "PEG" STEINHAGEN
95, of Cheswick, passed away peacefully in Arden Court, Ross Twp. She was born August 29, 1918, in Brackenridge, to the late William and Amelia Keppel Steinhagen, and has been a lifelong member of the community. She lived in Schuylkill Haven during WW II and Tarentum before moving to Cheswick in 1947. Mrs. Soentgen graduated from Har-Brack High School in 1936, then business training college. She was employed in the Industrial Engineering Division of the Aluminum Company of America in New Kensington. She married her late husband, Edward J. Soentgen in July 20, 1940. Margaret was a member of the former Della Weimer, now Irma Anthony bible study group, at Cheswick Presbyterian Church, 50-plus life member of the Order of The Eastern Star, Daughters of the Nile #48, WOW's of the Syria Temple, Ladies of the Syria Temple, Allegheny-Kiski Senior Citizens of New Kensington, Allegheny Kiski Historical Society. She traveled over the world with her late husband, Edward, and enjoyed line dancing, playing cards, flowers and house plants, but most importantly, spending time with her family. Survivors include son, Edward Soentgen, Jr. of Venice, FL; daughter, Rebecca King of North Hills; six grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews. Besides her parents, she was also preceded in death by her husband, Edward J. Soentgen of 55 years; and sister, Lois Steinhagen Herceg; and one brother, Charles (Bud) Steinhagen. Family will receive friends on Sunday (today) from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. in the CHARLES B. JARVIE SPRINGDALE FUNERAL HOME, INC., 801 Pittsburgh St., with Services to commence in her church, Cheswick Presbyterian, on Monday at 3 p.m. (EVERYONE IS ASKED TO PLEASE MEET AT THE CHURCH), with Burial to follow in Prospect Cemetery, Brackenridge.
