1920 - 2014 Obituary Condolences
Age 93, of Cranberry Township, passed away on Tuesday, March 25, 2014, while under the care of the Jefferson Regional Medical Center. Born October 31, 1920, in Pittsburgh, he was the son of the late John and Mary (Bronowicz) Kopec. Joseph was a proud U.S. Army veteran who served during WWII. He was a member of the Harmony Lodge #429 F & AM and the Valley of New Castle A.A.S.R. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather and great-great-grandfather who will be dearly missed and lovingly remembered. He is survived by his children, Donna G. Kelminsky of Pittsburgh and John J. Kopec of FL; his seven grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandson. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Elizabeth L. (Smerbeck) Kopec, whom he married on February 24, 1941, and passed away on February 22, 2005; three brothers; and one sister. Joseph's family will welcome friends on Sunday from 4-8 p.m. at the GLENN - KILDOO FUNERAL HOME & CREMATION SERVICES, INC., 130 Wisconsin Avenue, Cranberry Township. A Blessing Service, followed by Military Honors, will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Monday, March 31, 2014, at the funeral home, with Father John Gallagher, celebrant. He will be laid to rest in the Twin Valley Memorial Park in Delmont. If desired, memorial contributions may be made in his honor in support of St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, P.O.
