1923 - 2014 | Obituary Condolences Gallery
Passed away on April 1, 2014, from natural causes, at the age of 90. Mom was born in 1923 in Smolensk, Russia and lived an extraordinary life. She persevered through the devastations of war, found true love and then true joy raising a loving family. She married the love of her life, Alexander, in 1949, and they settled in Turtle Creek. Mom was a devoted homemaker who cared for her family with much love. She was selfless and continuously taking care of others. Mom was a fabulous cook and would feed everyone who came to visit. Her cabbage rolls were beyond compare. Flowers were her passion and she loved to spend countless hours in her garden. She was preceded in death by her husband, Alexander, in 1980. She is survived by her brother, Yuri, who lives in Russia; her six children, Andra (Danai), Melanie (Terry), Michael (Joyce), Norman (Carolyn), Darlene, and Timmy (Tammy); her eight grandchildren, Courtney (Adam), Corey, Collin, Connor, Andrea (Brian), Alexander, Cody, and Kayla; and three great- grandchildren, Nathan, Ty'miere, and Amauri. Mom was cremated and requested there be no service. If you were fortunate enough to be touched by Mom's kindness or share one of her delicious meals, please raise a glass of wine to toast her. Even though dementia took some of her memory, she never forgot how much she enjoyed a glass of wine. Thank you to the amazing staff at Canterbury Place and UPMC Mercy. Arrangements entrusted to JOBE FUNERAL HOME, 118 Shaw Avenue, Turtle Creek, 412-823-1950.
