Obituary Condolences

Age 94, passed peacefully to be with her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on Friday, April 11, 2014. Beloved wife of Ernie Clayton for 59 years, who preceded her in death; loving mother of Tom (Jamie), John (Terry), Ellen (Tom) Kurtz, Jeanie (Dan) Slater, and Wendy (Steve) Gonzalez; loving grandmother of Tim, Derek, Cara, Danny, Katie, Adam, Luke, and Gracie; and great-grandmother of Emmelyn Rose and Hope Louise; beloved aunt of many nieces and nephews. Preceded in death by her siblings, Bernell, Earl, and Catherine Ritz. Formerly of Jefferson Hills and a beloved resident of Overlook Green Assisted Living Facility. Rose was born in Bloomsdale, Missouri and was raised with her siblings by her loving Aunt Katie after the early death of her mother. Rose worked as a printer during WWII. She was an avid volunteer and a member of Canterbury Christian Mothers, Medical Missions, charter member of the American Legion Post 712 Auxiliary, Jefferson Hospital Volunteer, and member of St. Thomas A' Becket Catholic Church. She loved to cook, bake, can homegrown vegetables and jellies, quilt, sew, fish, camp, play cards, and travel. Visitation will be Sunday, April 13, 2014, from 2-4 p.m. and 6-8 p.m. at JEFFERSON MEMORIAL FUNERAL HOMES, INC., 301 Curry hollow Road. Mass of Christian Burial Monday at 10:00 a.m. at St. Thomas A' Becket, followed by burial in Jefferson Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to St. Thomas A' Becket Catholic Church. Online condolences at:
