BURZESE ROBERT L., SR.|
Age 91, of Sewickley, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, April 15, 2014. He was born on September 25, 1922, in Ambridge, PA to the late Alexander and Mary Mercadante Burzese. He was retired from the Ambridge Water Authority and was the owner of The Original Style Pizza in Ambridge, also known as 14th Street Pizza and Police Station Pizza for 32 years. It is now owned by his son, Alex. He was a member of St. James Catholic Church, Sewickley. He was a World War II veteran serving in the U.S. Army and participated in campaigns in Rhineland, Central Europe, and Africa as part of the Medical Corps and was the recipient of two Bronze Stars. Preceding him in death, in addition to his parents, were his loving wife of 65 years, Angelina Dippolito Burzese and a brother, Alexander Burzese. He was the faithful and loving father to Marie (Joe) Drewnowski of Baytown, Texas, Robert Burzese, Jr. (Joanne) of Butler, Elaine (Terry) Sechler of Sewickley, Dianne (Barry) Rotz of Cranberry Township, and Alexander (Amy) Burzese of Sewickley; loving grandfather to ten grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren; two brothers, Richard Burzese, Florida and Alfred (Phyllis) Burzese of Tennessee; a brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Tony (Mary) Dippolito of Economy. Friends will be received on Monday, April 21, 2014, from 2-8 p.m. in the JOHN SYKA FUNERAL HOME, INC., 833 Kennedy Drive, Ambridge, where prayers will be offered on Tuesday, April 22, 2014, at 9:30 a.m. followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 a.m. in St. James Catholic Church.
