EVELYN L. (ROSE) FARMER Obituary
FARMER EVELYN L. (ROSE)
Age 97, a resident of Redstone Highlands, Greensburg, formerly of North Huntingdon, died at home, Friday, April 25, 2014. She was born March 28, 1917, in Rocky Gap, VA, the daughter of the late William J.D. and Bettie (Wilson) Rose; and was also preceded in death by her husband, George Coburn Farmer; and a son, Larry P. Tarr. She was a member of First Presbyterian Church, Murrysville, a former member of United Presbyterian Church of the Covenant, Irwin, and a member of the Daughters of the American Revolution. Evelyn enjoyed traveling, loved to play her organ, followed collegiate and Pittsburgh sports and was interested in all current events. She loved being with friends. Surviving are a daughter Marjory J. Hobar of Tampa, Florida; grandchildren, Dr. P. Craig (Robin) Hobar and Coby Hobar (Eric); also great- grandchildren. A private viewing and Funeral Service will be held at the WILLIAM SNYDER FUNERAL HOME, 521 Main Street, Irwin, 724-863-1200, with Rev. H.J. Charles MacPherson, officiating. Interment will be in Union Cemetery.
