SHIMKO LORI B.|
Age 47, of North Huntingdon, formerly of Hays, entered eternal life peacefully with her family by her side on Sunday, May 18, 2014, after a long illness. Loving daughter of Jack and Donna (Carnegie) Shimko; sister of John and sister-in-law, Stephanie; also survived by her beloved nieces, Victoria and Julianna, and nephew, Hunter. She was a graduate of Bishop Boyle High School and Slippery Rock University. She was a lover of music, trivia and all things Walt Disney. Lori was a liver transplant recipient in 1997, and an avid advocate of organ donation. Because of her generosity, with the help of the Center for Organ Recovery & Education (CORE), at her death she gave the gift of life to others through her own donation. Her enthusiastic spirit and determination will be remembered by all who knew her. Family and friends will be received at SAVOLSKIS - WASIK - GLENN FUNERAL HOME, INC., 3501 Main Street, Munhall, Wednesday, 1-4 and 6-9 p.m. where a Blessing Service will be held on Thursday at 11 a.m. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to the Center for Organ Recovery & Education (www.core.org) in her memory.
