June 27, 1944 – June 6, 2014. Loving wife, mother, grandmother, and Aunt Kathleen Sue Kovacs, age 69, of Ross Township, passed away, Friday June 6, 2014, after a long fight with Multiple Sclerosis. She was the beloved wife of George Kovacs for 47 years; loving mother of Matthew and his wife, Rebecca; and dear grandmother to Audrey Rose. She was an educator for over 30 years at Bellevue and Northgate high schools, teaching English and reading rotation to a number of grades and variety of students. She loved traveling to Las Vegas with her husband and collecting Beanie Babies. She was preceded by her father and mother, Paul and Mary McGregor; sisters, Sarah Mrazik and Martha McGuinness. Her living sisters, Mary McFarland (John) and Nancy Fechko (George); brother-in-law, James Kovacs (Sherrie); and sister-in-law, Deborah Pryor; as well as her best friend and confidant, Carolee Ackinclose; loving aunt to Michael Mrazik (Linda), Sally Ann Ackerman (Tim), Nancy Price (Eric), George Fechko (Sharon), John McFarland (Chris), Paul Fechko (Jennifer), Mary Ellen Harker (John), Chris McGuinness (Jill), Dan McGuinness (Danielle), Jeff Kovacs (Jamee) and Jeanna Pournaras (Matt); loving grandmother to Lyndsey, Lauren and Lucas Mrazik; loving great- aunt to Josh, Jeremiah, Sarah and Rebecca Price; Kelsey, George, Kaylyn and Chloe Fechko; Jake and Marley McFarland; Trey, Marcus and Dmitri Fechko; John Patrick, Marissa, Alyssa and Isabella Harker; Caleb and Myla Kovacs; Kinsley and Aven Pournaras; great-great-aunt to Justin and Jordynn Powell; Josephine McGuinness; Cameron McGuinness. Thanks to all her friends for the support and encouragement through the years. Flowers encouraged, donations on her behalf may also be given to MS Society of Western Pennsylvania http://www.nationalmssociety.org/Chapters/PAX/Donate/Give-in-Honor-or-Memory. Family and friends received Thursday 6-8 p.m. and Friday 1-8 p.m., at the THOMAS L. NIED FUNERAL HOME, INC., 7441 Washington Street, Swissvale, where a Service will be held Saturday at 10 a.m.
