ELEANOR L. (SUGASKI)
Age 84, of West Mifflin, formerly of Pleasant Hills, passed away on June 20, 2014, after a long struggle with Alzheimer's. Born in Elyria, OH on May 20, 1930, to Genevieve and John Sugaski. Beloved wife of William H. "Bill" Sanders; dear mother of Debra Sumner of Newbury Park, CA, Gary (Sharon) of Albuquerque, NM and Bill (Terry) of New York City; loving grandmother of five grandchildren; and one great- grandchild. After being raised with sisters, Jean and Marian; and brothers, Lloyd and Donald, she became a wife for over 60 years, mother, school teacher, librarian, church volunteer and world traveler. She graduated from Ohio University with a teaching degree, taught in various Ohio school districts, and after helping her husband obtain his college degree, they moved their family from Pittsburgh to Venezuela from 1963 to 1970 for an assignment with U.S. Steel. After returning to the U.S., she continued to teach and work for the local library in Pittsburgh, and raised her three children to be successful. Debra is a career nurse, Gary an engineer, and Bill is an investment banker. In addition to diverse talents which included being on her collegiate women's rifle team and winning multiple trophies as an amateur golfer, she enjoyed travel in South America, Europe, Asia, and the Middle East. She was an avid walker, a regular at the gym well into her '70s, and always ready to go exploring. She is survived by her husband; sister, Marion; and brothers, Lloyd and Don Sugaski; all of her children, and grandchildren. The family would like to thank the staff of Arden Courts and Celtic Hospice for their kind and compassionate care during the past year. There will be no viewing, but a Memorial Mass will be celebrated at St. Thomas a'Becket Church at 10 a.m. on Saturday, June 21, 2014. In lieu of flowers, donations may be sent to the
